About The Athlete

Justin started at CFC almost 1-year to the day, coming in with little to know exercise background, and has since 10x’d his performance, mentality and life-style. His raw determination to push himself everyday, be it in our conditioning sessions or weightlifting programs, has taken his performance to new heights. He is never satisfied with complacency and consistently asks more of himself.

As one of our most excitable members and shares that energy and enthusiasm with the entire class and coaching team day-in and day-out. We are incredible proud of Justin’s dedication and progress. Congrats Justin, big goals for 2018 and we can’t wait to help and see you hit them.

What got you into crossfit and what keeps you coming back?

I got into crossfit last year. Kenzie Vincent convinced me to come after moving. I remember hearing about crossfit on the tv and instantly thought it was awesome. The CFC crew is absolutely amazing, so friendly and encouraging everyone instantly became my friends.

What are some of your non-crossfit hobbies or activities?

I love spending time with friends and family

One sentence to describe CFC from your perspective…

CFC is family.

What is your favorite part of CFC?

The atmosphere of positive energy is the best part of CFC no matter the struggle you guys are always there with pointers and an ear to listen.

Favorite and least favorite movement/workout, and why?

ALL the workouts are awesome 😎

Biggest/proudest/latest accomplishment or PR?

My latest PR is power snatch of 150 lbs and I am so close to this years goal of 155 😉

What’s your take on our coaching team?

The CFC team is always there to help you reach your goals.

Do you have any goals set for the near future – in or outside of CFC?

My March goal is to crush the crossfit open workouts. Coach Taylor has also set some lofty annual goals for me in “Fran”, my 1,000m row and some weightlifting/gymnastics… so I’ve got some work to do but I’m really excited.

Give us a little known fact about yourself…

am getting married in 2019 🙂

Coaches Comments

I was lucky enough to be there through Justin’s on-boarding and lucky to continue to be apart of his journey. When we came in he was looking for a place to get a little exercise in and change his life up and he not only found that but a place to call home and second family in CFC. Justin is one of the most positively inspired human beings I have met, he deals with stress and life in an incredible fashion that not many will ever achieve. His ability to direct and focus his energy into what he is doing and aiming to accomplish is at the core of his progress. He has only scratched the surface on his exercise and life career. Back to business…
Justin is an aerobic beast. I literally fear that he is going to push himself to the brink and pass out from sheer intensity and uncontrollable enthusiasm on the daily… I don’t care how strong you are or think you are, stare into this man’s eyes mid workout and you will either move faster or go home because you are so impressed. He’s driven, coach-able and extremely humble. He s part the CFC family, part of the crew, through and through. Cheers to you Justin, can’t wait to see what you accomplish this year and make of yourself in life. – Coach Taylor

The first thing that comes to mind when I think about JP is his hard-working demeanour. This kid does not quit. Certainly this applies to his performance in the gym however, it stems from the way he lives his life. To give an example, I swear JP would rather blow a blood vessel in his eye than bail from a lift. In the same way, he opts for 4am wake-up calls to drive an hour to the gym instead of excusing his “rest days” due to work commitments. JP’s “nothing will stop me”-attitude is nothing short of inspiring. His resiliency to adversity is incredible to witness and the first step in living an extraordinary life. I also need to comment on his kind heart. There is not a day where he steps into the gym without greeting everyone with a smile followed by a friendly “how are you doing today”. The best part is? He genuinely cares about your response. JP I think I speak for more than just myself when I say that you are an incredibly strong young man with a heart of gold. You’re going to change lives my friend! – Coach Steph

Justin’s an amazing attitude when it comes to his training. Kenzie brought Justin to the box a while back, and the both of these guys have been taking there fitness to another level. Always up for doing accessory work and eating up every cue a coach throws there way, this makes Justin a great example for others at CFC. I’m proud of you big guy, and you definitely have earned this athlete of the month!  – Coach Shane

Sincerely,

The CFC Coaching Team
