About The Athlete
Nikita joined CFC approx. 6-months ago and has excelled in nearly every aspect of our weightlifting, gymnastics and strength/conditioning programs. Her positive energy, commitment to skill work and general enthusiasm with learning new things continues to progress her own skill set and motivate those around her.
Nikita’s kind yet competitive nature, personality and personal drive for improvement has made her a staple member in our CFC community, not to mention being a highly coachable athlete who loves to learn. We look forward to seeing her progress through her next stage of fitness and life in general. This is only the beginning. Congrats Nikita!
What are some of your non-crossfit hobbies or activities?
In my free time, I enjoy drawing and painting, being outdoors and traveling with friends.
One sentence to describe CFC from your perspective…
CFC is how I choose to spend the very little free time I have 🙂
What is your favorite part of CFC?
The community of members and coaches at CFC is incredible. It’s a great group of people that is super supportive and friendly.
Favorite and least favorite movement/workout, and why?
My favourite movement is box jump burpees, I love flying through those! My least favourite movement is rowing, it kills me every time, especially when you have sore quads
Favorite superhero, band/musician or celebrity, and why?
Favourite band is Pink Floyd. It just takes me places. Roger Waters Us + Them last fall was the best night of my life haha
Biggest/proudest/latest accomplishment or PR?
I’m most proud of my ring muscle up!
What’s your take on our coaching team?
The coaching team at CFC is fantastic and part of what keeps me coming back.
- Shane has helped me establish a great base for Olympic lifting and I build skills in each session with him.
- Every class with Jason and Tyler is an absolute blast!
- Jenna, Steph and Michelle are angels and beasts in the gym at the same time.
- Taylor’s work ethic at the gym will leave you incredibly inspired to work on your own game with full intent and purpose.
I am grateful to get to know these guys and for all their guidance to help me improve.
Do you have any goals set for the near future – in or outside of CFC?
At CFC, I want to improve my gymnastics and Olympic lifting skills. Specifically, more than one ring muscle up and BW squat snatch.
Give us a little known fact about yourself…
I can read and write in Hindi.
Thank-you for making me feel so welcomed at your gym and for all the pointers. See you guys tmrw 🙂
Coaches Comments
Nikita ” Keetzy ” is a natural fit for crossfit and a even better fit for CFC. When she started she was already very strong and with the work she has put in with her technique she is improving all the time. Keetzy bring with her a wonderful attitude each and every time she comes in. Her intensity when she trains is incredible but her enjoyment of getting into a workout and just grinding away until its over is pretty cool. She is great to coach because she listens to the coaches cues and transitions that into her lifts. It will be exciting to she how she does in her first time doing some Open workouts. Also hopefully we get a chance to compete together this year in a local event. Keep up all the hard work both in the gym and with your studies.. – Coach Jason.
My first encounter with Nikita consisted of workout that had a bunch of pull-ups in it. When the clock started, she hoped up on the bar and started busting out big sets of strict pull-ups. “I don’t know how to kip yet, so I’ll do them all strict.” she said. And from then on, we became best friends… or something like that. Her strength and competitive nature shine in tough workout and painfully difficult accessory work (which she always does). She never complains, knows how to push herself and has an incredibly authentic nature to which her carries herself with. Not only does she take direction and ask great questions but she puts the work in and applies it immediately, literally until her hands hurt. It’s a pleasure to be around and motivating not only to watch her progress but be a part of it as a coach and fellow athlete. Muscle-up city, here we come! – Coach Taylor
She is small but she is mighty. This girl is the strongest person I know in the pull-up department (#jealous) and can bust out 10+ pull-ups anytime, anywhere. Aside from her hulk-like upper body strength, Nikita is a beautiful human (with long, luscious locks!). She is a very intelligent and driven individual. When she isn’t picking up heavy things in the gym, she has her nose buried in textbooks. This girl is constantly learning, and is genuinely interested in everything you have to say regardless if it is gym-related or not. I enjoy having Nikita in class as we share the same love for the anatomy and physiology of the human body which always fosters great conversation. Oh and the fact that she drinks as much coffee as I do…almost. You rock my friend, we are lucky to have you a part of the community!!! – Coach Steph
Nikita is a little power house. From the get go I knew she was strong, then she pulled out her pull-ups and instantly we knew we had a lot we could work with. Between her dedicated to move correctly, her strong will and intensity in metcons, and joyful demeanor – she makes a perfect athlete of the month for January! I look forward to seeing her more in Oly classes as there its a ton of unlocked and hidden potential. Congrats Nikita! – Coach Shane
Sincerely,
The CFC Coaching Team
