Sharron Painchaud

About The Athlete

Sharron joined CFC winter 2018 looking to get up, out and moving. She wanted something new, different and that would challenge here, and we really think she’s found all that and much more in our CFC community. She joining, she’s not only had some major fitness/exercise successes but major health/lifestyle changes as well. She’s a 6am class regular, completed our 2018 Nutrition Challenge and has become a stable personality at CFC.

Her energy, spirit and determination no matter what the workout is incredibly motivating to coach, work alongside with and be a part of. She embodies the CFC spirit and we’re so excited to acknowledge her and her successes both inside and outside of the gym. Congrats Sharron, we love you!

What got you into crossfit and what keeps you coming back?

Sitting on my couch one day feeling depressed/lazy/bored/frustrated, I saw a post on Facebook for CFC. It was pretty intriguing so I figured I’d sign up for the free trial. Showed up for the class that first day wondering what the heck I was getting myself into but after getting through the workout (thought I would die), I was hooked. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger for sure!! It’s been 6 months now and I love it. Everything about it keeps me coming back; the excellent coaches, the encouragement of the other members/athletes,  the sweat and how great it makes me feel both physically and mentally.

What are some of your non-crossfit hobbies or activities?

Reading, ballroom dancing (when I get the chance) and spending time at our cabin on the weekends.

One sentence to describe CFC from your perspective…

CFC has been a life changer for me.

What is your favorite part of CFC?

Learning how to lift weights and the challenges of doing the METCON’s.

Favorite and least favorite movement/workout, and why?

Favorite workout right now is the weight-lifting…..love to see the progress on my wodify chart! Least favorite movement is burpees over the bar….burpees can be not SO bad, but that jump over makes them killer!!!

Favorite superhero, band/musician or celebrity, and why?

My husband is my superhero…..he encourages me and supports my decision to do Crossfit. I’m sure that my health and well-being is also a benefit to him!!

Biggest/proudest/latest accomplishment or PR?

Proudest moment – completing “Jerry” which is: 1-mile run, 2km row, 1-mile run for time!
Latest accomplishment – back squats

What’s your take on our coaching team?

Love the team……
Michelle got me started with the on-ramp program. Taught me so much and always made sure I finished what I started. She made me believe I could finish….and guess what…..I can. She has continued to encourage me and always gives me tips to get me through the hard parts.

Jason/Tyler/Stephanie – Always enjoy my early morning classes with them. Encouraging, making sure I’m doing things the right way, giving me new challenges, always welcoming, funny, friendly, and providing great music to workout to.

Shane/Taylor – learned a lot from them while doing the nutrition challenge.

Do you have any goals set for the near future – in or outside of CFC?

Nope…..just keep doing what I’m doing. Getting more healthy and fit.

Give us a little known fact about yourself…

I’m an import from Saskatchewan and I’m NOT a Rider fan!! (HAHAHA!!)

Coaches Comments

Sharron is just awesome. Very happy that crossfit has found a way to her and that she found her way to CFC. Is pretty great to see her growth as an athlete. Not only has her strength improved but her mobility and her technique has come so far. She is also so great to have in class, so friendly and approachable and easy to coach. Thanks for all the hard work it has certainly paid off. – Coach Jason

Although our schedules don’t align too often, I am incredibly proud and motivated ever day that I wake up to see Sharron’s 6am time already up and done. Our daily work and workout are challenging, and there’s nothing that impresses me more than grinding through and putting the work in today to make yourself better tomorrow.. And that is what Sharron does at CFC every day.

To see and hear almost daily from our 6am coaches the level of energy and determination she brings in is incredible. In a stage in life when no one is asking her to do more, to be better, to get stronger and more agile, to get and live healthier… she is! She buts the effort in and bring her full attention. Once again, incredible. Thank you so much for trusting myself, our coaching team and program with your health and well-being. Keep going! Don’t ever stop. – Coach Taylor

Sharron is a joy to have in 6am classes. She shows up with a big smile and lots of energy (the only 6am-er who does this on a regular basis). Sharron is so much fun to coach as she is so receptive to feedback and so willing to learn. Aside from the physical gains, I have seen Sharron’s mindset inside the gym change completely. When she first started, she often doubted herself and underestimated her abilities. It has been a pleasure seeing her gain confidence in herself. She knows what she can (and will) accomplish and never backs down from a challenge. Sharron I am so proud of your progress and am so happy to see you enjoying yourself inside the gym!! – Coach Steph

Sharron has been a coaches dream ever since she started. She really listens to all the cues and advice that the coaches give her. She also pushes herself so hard in every workout, and won’t quit or get discouraged until she’s finished. Over the past few months it’s been amazing to see how much progress she’s made. Sharron, your positive attitude and warming smile are such a wonderful thing to see at 6am. Congratulations on being athlete of the month, you deserve it and we are so lucky to have you as part of our CFC family.!  – Coach Shane & Steph H.

Sincerely,

The CFC Coaching Team
